CASE STUDY: Registered charity
We undertook a VAT review for the Charity as there was doubt over whether some corporate donations would actually be perceived as commercial income which would require the charity to register for VAT. We advised the Charity on a new trading structure to ensure the impact of partial exemption was mitigated as far as possible and developed a separate trading structure. This created a VAT refund position for the Charity who are now able to claim VAT on some of their costs and are now financially better off as a result.
Keith Knight has supported the Brain Charity with the development of a management accounting process which has saved so much time and effort, enabling me more free time to spend analysing the data. Keith's professionalism and knowledge has been invaluable and his patience guiding me through the transition to the new system has been so appreciated.
Wilson Henry designed and developed a management information system that enabled the charity to produce automated funds reporting for SORP purposes as well as Key Performance Indicators.
