CASE STUDY: Charity SORP Review

In the first year that we were appointed to act for this Charity we re-engineered the Annual Report and Financial Statements to truly reflect the impact the Charity has had and more accurately reflect the financial results of the organisation. This has enabled them to attract additional funding for the organisation which means they will double in size over the next two years.

As part of the year end process we identified that the finance officer although operating Sage Line 50 was unaware of the Charity functions within the software which would enable funds reporting and better departmental analysis. We have now created a management information dashboard for the client so that they can have meaningful reports from Sage on a monthly basis and high quality reports for the trustees.

"Keith Knight has supported The Brain Charity with the development of a management accounting process which has saved so much time and effort, enabling me more free time to spend analysing the data. Keith's professionalism and knowledge has been invaluable and his patience guiding me through the transition to the new system has been so appreciated."

We reviewed existing systems used within the Charityand then discussed and agreed the different management information needs of within the business and the appropriate Key performance indicators (KPI's) for the business. From these we designed a bespoke reporting pack that allows the client to report on specific management information needs and KPIs.
